Road Trip 2010

Okay, summer run-down coming up. We started off with a road trip. We drove to Hannibal, MO to visit the Woods family. The drive wasn't too bad, except that it rained like 80% of the drive there. We had a blast in Missouri, playing around the pond in their backyard, riding in the back of the truck to the General Store, having the mother of all bonfires, etc.

We stayed there from Saturday afternoon until Tuesday morning. Then we continued driving to Nashville, TN. I loved Nashville. Our dear friends Chase and Abbe were to be wed that weekend. I have no pictures at all from the wedding festivities, which is quite a shame because it was beautiful and Christian looked studly in his tux (brown again!). But here were the sights we saw:

Downtown Nashville- there was live music EVERYWHERE, even in the middle of the day on a weekday. I could have wandered around all week. We ate at an awesome bar that made special sandwiches with homemade sauerkraut and french fries on them while playing 90's hits on the digital jukebox. We also went to the Ryman Auditorium, which used to be a church, and used to be where the Grand Ol' Opry was. Now they have concerts there and Chase and Christian got to play guitar on the stage where Arcade Fire will soon be.
Country Music Hall of Fame (had things ranging from old recordings of the beginning of "hillbilly" music to Elvis' blue suede shoes to Brad Paisley's paisley guitar- i want)

The night before the wedding, we had a singalong at the Webber home.

We got started on our drive home a day late because of a terrible mishap with our keys... but the drive home was easy and fun. We even stopped overnight to sleep this time (unlike on the way there).
